The Winter Festival is held every year during the last week of December. The festival celebrates the warmth and cheerfulness of the people of hill station, who welcome the tourist from the depth of their hearts. This three days colorful festival is organised by the Rajasthan Tourism and Municipal Board of Mount Abu.

The lovely and lone hill station of Mount Abu in Rajasthan is a fabulous place for a great vacation. Apart from providing respite from the scorching heat, it also gives one a chance to witness the marvellous Dilwara temples. Description of the Winter Festival in Mount Abu, Rajasthan
On the occasion of the Winter Festival, eclectic and riveting performances are put up by the talented artistes of Rajasthan. Classical as well as folk singers mesmerize listeners with their songs. The Gair, Ghooomar and Daph folk dances put up by the dancers also do not fail to thrill anyone.

Other than these cultural programmes, water sports also form part of the festivities. Rowing competitions are held on the lake. Cricket matches are organized.

A large number of diyas or lamps are floated on the Nakki Lake. This ceremony is known by the name of Deepdaan, the sight of so many lighted lamps floating on the river is indeed a visual delight.

At this time many colorful processions are also organized by the local authorities. In fact it is one of these processions that mark the inauguration of the Winter Festival. Starting from Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation's Hotel Shikhar, it proceeds towards Nakki Lake Chowk. The locals enthusiastically participate in it. After finally gathering, performances are put up not only by the folk artistes of Rajasthan but also by those of Gujarat, Punjab and Haryana. The spectators are sure to have a very enjoyable time watching them.
The hospitality of the people, their colorful culture and exotic location make this festival a never to be forgotten experience. The grand finale of the festival is made brighter by a display of dazzling fire works all three days.
